Generate images with Midjourney - the complete guide
Creating images with artificial intelligence has become the major trend of 2023. Whether it's for video, photography, textual content, or even music. One of the most popular services is called Midjourney. So, we've decided to prepare a comprehensive and well-filled guide that will allow you to generate your own images as well.
Are you ready? Let's go!
Step 1
Start by joining the Midjourney Discord server by clicking here.
Note, this doesn't stop at this step—complete our subsequent steps before wasting your stock of free images 😌
Step 2
You now need to go to one of the channels titled "Newbies".
This is very important: this is where you can create your images using their artificial intelligence.
Step 3
Type /imagine
followed by what you want to create.
/imagine a cat playing a video game on the phone
Be careful to clearly state in ENGLISH what you want to generate: the artificial intelligence primarily understands this language at the moment, and you might end up with... strange results. 🤨
Step 4
You will now see the Midjourney bot generate four images based on your request.
You can choose one of the 4 versions using the buttons: U1, U2, U3, U4 to enlarge the image: this is called "upscaling" in English.
Or request other variations: V1, V2, V3, V4.
You might think it stops at Step 4... but remember, you're with us here, we go in-depth, just like in our courses. 😉
Here are some little tips that will greatly help you generate some of the most beautiful images possible with this AI.
Tips
Be Specific
Don't just generate "a cat".
But rather "a sleepy ginger cat on the keyboard of a computer located on a living room sofa".
Your words are like little artistic strokes; you replace the paintbrush. Don't forget: in English.
Your imagination is limitless: describe as much as possible what you want in your image.
- Beautiful
- Big
- Small
- Muscular
Go ahead, let's ask for a muscular cat.
Use the Latest Version
It's strange, but by default, you're using the old version of Midjourney.
You can force the use of the new version by specifying --v 4 --q 2
.
So version 4 in the best quality: 2.
Specify the Style You Desire
Many artists have their own unique brushstroke; you can specify what style you want the artificial intelligence to use, matching your favorite artist's style.
Marvel style
Disney style
Salvador Dali
Your imagination is limitless: describe as much as possible what you want in your image.
Little Words That Make a Difference
You can specify several very important pieces of information for your image.
- Email address syntax
- Light
- Emotions
The list: click here.
Take an Image as a Reference to Generate Your Image
Actually, did you want Shrek's potbellied cat on the sofa? Ahhh, I see... In that case, just give it the link to your image when you tell it what you want.
Easy, isn't it?
How does it look without our tips and with our tips?
